Description
The Basara hop-up bucking, developed by da Vinci custom to maximize the performance of its precision inner barrels, has been renewed as the Basara – Ikaruga.
To minimize dimensional variation in the contact patch, the mold has been completely redesigned from the ground up. This new tooling enables highly consistent reproduction of the signature W-shaped internal contact patch, ensuring stable and repeatable performance.
Because rubber components naturally exhibit slight variations in dimensions and shape, every stage of production—from mold manufacturing and molding to final inspection—is carried out entirely in Japan. Quality control is performed in accordance with ISO dimensional tolerance standards, ensuring consistent manufacturing quality.
To maintain performance while keeping production costs under control, the new mold employs a different manufacturing method that results in flash (excess rubber) around the outer edge of the bucking. However, no flash is present on the internal contact patch, which is the critical area affecting hop performance, so this has no impact on shooting performance.
The 50° model is formulated with a slightly softer compound than the standard Tokyo Marui hop-up bucking. It securely holds the BB with minimal hop adjustment, making it ideal for 0.20 g and other lightweight BBs, as well as stock to lightly tuned AEGs, where it delivers stable and consistent backspin.
